Well, summer is finally here which means it is appropriate for us to discuss the best way to care for you skin when the the days get longer and the temperatures rise...
I prefer the "RPM" approach (cute, huh?):
1) Let's start with "P" first... this stands for "Protect". As the weather gets nicer and you spend more time outside exposed to the elements and UV rays, it's never more important than during this season to protect your face and skin with sunscreen. We're not talking only on weekends either ...ALL THE TIME! You'd be surprised what just the exposure to these damaging rays can do during your commute to work alone. TIP: Even when its a bit cloudy, still apply protection... at least an SPF 25 is recommended.
2) "M" is for "Moisturize"... and we mean both inside and out! For the inside: Make sure you drink plenty of water to keep your system running smoothly. When temperatures rise, your body needs more water to maintain its peak performance since you lose much of it through sweating and exercise during these months. In regards to the "outside" ... your skin loses its moisture faster as well, leaving it dry and less able to repair itself. Make sure to use a moisturizer that both replenishes lost moisture AND locks in existing moisture so your skin stays healthier longer.
3) And finally, the "R". This stands for "Repair" because no matter how well you care for your skin, Mother Nature has a way of taking her toll on all of us. Inevitably we will all experience varying degrees of sun damage and aging. While you never will be able to entirely reverse their effects, you can certainly use an "anti-aging" product that will help minimize the damage that has been done to your skin. Look for one that helps lessen the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, soothes over-exposed skin, and replenishes the moisture that has been lost during your daily routine. We recommend Fixx Advanced Repair Moisturizer, as it does all of these things and more.
One of the greatest challenges during summer months when it comes to caring for your skin is that adherence to the "RPM" approach is absolutely critical. Skip a day (or one application) and the price you'll pay during these summer months, will indeed be noticeable. (Just ask the guy next to you with the pink face and peeling forehead). To help make men's summer skin care easy, effective, and affordable (I guess this is the "EEA" approach), Matte For Men has created a "Summer Skin Care Package" that will keep your skin looking and feeling its best during the challenging months ahead. In addition, for a limited time, it is being offered at MatteForMen.com at a 30% discount. To learn more, please click here.
If you take nothing else away from this article, remember these two things: "RPM" and to enjoy your summer!
